  • What are PETRUS and ANNETTE?

    What is Petrus?

     

    Since 2005 “PETRUS” initiative coordinates universities, radioactive waste management organisations, training providers and research institutes efforts to develop cooperative approach to E&T in the geological disposal. PETRUS proposes an innovative strategy to ensure the continuation, renewal and improvement of the professional skills by sharing resources from both academia and industries all over Europe.

     

     

     

    What is ANNETTE?

     

    ANNETTE is a European project granted by the European Commission within the H2020 EURATOM program. The main objective of the project is to consolidate and better exploit the achievements already reached and to tackle the present challenges in preparing the European workforce in the different nuclear areas, with special attention to continuous professional development, life-long learning and cross border mobility.

  • About the PETRUS-ANNETTE 2018 conference:

    In pursuing our vision for strengthen E&T efforts in radioactive waste management and disposal; we are looking forward to the fourth edition of the PETRUS PhD event that will be held in Turku, Finland.

     

    The event is designed to be simultaneously a research school and a conference. Our main aim is to provide again a unique opportunity to bring together PhD students and early-stage researchers, alongside with professionals and academics.

     

    Selected PhD students and early-stage researchers will have the opportunity to present their works in all areas related to radioactive waste management and disposal. Special prizes will be awarded in both oral presentation and poster sessions.

     

    The program includes several plenary lectures presented by outstanding Professors highlighting strength and diversity of research and current topics. This year, our PhD event will be organized together with the ANNETTE Summer School widening the scope of the lectures to other nuclear sectors including nuclear technology and radiation protection.

  • Application Form

    Applicants are requested to send an extended abstract (maximum 4 pages) for consideration and inclusion in the programme. Abstract must be submitted in English. A prize award ceremony will be held at the end of the Event. The best presentations will be rewarded.

     

    PhD students participating in the PETRUS PhD event are eligible for ENEN PLUS project special grant provision. Applicants wishing to benefit from this opportunity have to complete attached document and send it no later than 31 May 2018.
